Put on by the Young Professionals Against Poverty to support the Center for the Homeless in Downtown South Bend, the festival includes live entertainment on the main stage, a family day, an over 21 beach party, water activities on the river, and a real beach on what was once a vacant city lot downtown! Communication Company was eager to help out in any way, and donated security cameras to keep everything running smoothly at such a great event. www.ontheriverfestival.com
In 2011, Communication Company was asked to assist the City of South Bend in the design and engineering of the renovation to the Stanley Coveleski Stadium, home of the South Bend Silverhawks. This renovation was a large undertaking. Our goal was to assist in making not only the games here an experience, but also the other events that are held throughout the year.
The first addition to the design was the large video display scoreboard. Along with this feature came three cameras and a broadcast video switcher which allows live shot, replays, graphics, statistics, and boundless other applications – all of which are visible in full sunlight.
Each suite was renovated, creating smaller-scale entertaining areas with the latest in sound and video for each of these spaces. In the “upper-deck,” an area was created for private parties and meetings. Included features are HD displays, video projection and an amazing sound system that rounds out the ultimate fan experience.
One of the key components of the renovation was the creation of a park-like environment, allowing patrons to walk a full circle around the stadium. This walkway is lined with unique lighting and sound applications, bringing the atmosphere of the events taking place within the stadium to the boundaries of the property.
In the main stadium all of the sound systems were replaced with new JBL speakers and Crown amplifiers. With a setup like this, the fans find it hard to contain their excitement once the music and game-day sounds start. CCSB is proud to have its name associated with The Cove and proud of the final product we have designed within this facility.

American Axle is another strong SW MI company that chose to partner with Siemens fire alarm. As a world leader in the design, engineering, testing, validation and manufacturing of driveline, drive train and chassis systems, related components, and metal formed products for light trucks and buses, sport utility vehicles, crossover vehicles, and passenger cars, AAM understands what quality is. As you can see it was no surprise when AAM made the decision to work with Communication Company to protect their staff and valuable assets.
When it came time for American Axle Manufacturing in Three Rivers, a tier-one leader in front and rear propeller shaft assembly and front and rear axle manufacturing, to upgrade their fire alarm system, they chose to stay with their long time partners at Communication Company. Almost 20 years ago AAM chose us to provide and install their Siemens MXL Voice fire alarm system in their almost 1 million square foot manufacturing facility. Today the facility is protected by a new Siemens FireFinder® XLS, a responsive intelligent fire detection system that detects fires and begins notifying occupants in seconds.
Challenge: Upgrade the facilities fire alarm panels networked throughout the plant, as well as replacing both the notification and initiating appliances, while virtually eliminating system downtime.
Solution: We deployed multiple two man teams of technicians to each panel location where upgrades were to take place. Simultaneously, at each panel location, the old panels were removed and the new panels were installed using electronics which allowed the continued use of the existing field devices and would also accommodate the new state of the art field devices. This allowed the transition of the field devices one zone at a time which eliminated the fire alarm system from being offline for more than a few hours at a time.

In March 1990, Nippon Steel started operation of a joint venture corporation I/N Tek with the US Corporation Inland Steel for the purpose of forming cold-rolled steel sheets by consignment. Also, in October 1991, Nippon Steel commenced operation of a joint venture corporation I/N Kote with the Inland Steel for manufacturing and selling surface-treated steel sheets. In both cases the companies chose to work with Communication Company and Siemens as their fire alarm protection system.
We were contracted to replace and upgrade the post office’s CCTV systems throughout all of Northern Indiana. This was obviously no small task as there are several facilities with multiple needs. Our technical team was able to determine the USPS’s needs and deliver a solution to meet those needs.
When a police department chooses a company to handle their internal security you can bet they don’t just pick anyone. We were able to sit down with their team and design a state of the art camera and card access system to protect and secure the facility.
Communication Company was responsible for integrating the University’s Siemens fire alarm systems throughout the campus. We tied all buildings into a central station for streamlined monitoring to ensure rapid response and enhanced protection of students, faculty and staff.
